Vivostat

Vivostat is a machine that produces so-called fibrin glue from a small amount of the patient’s own blood. The glue is produced in just half an hour and is extremely effective for stopping bleedings very fast - even bleedings from large blood vessels. TPU has developed, tested and produced the initial 20 machines of the production. The development includes a complete design and documentation of mechatronics including transducers (IR temperatures gauges, pressure sensors, laser, strain gauges, etc.) and actuator systems together with specification of software and control systems.

Autoinjector test equipment

TPU A/S has developed a test fixture with associated software that enables time measurement of the injection and distance measurement of the needle optically with a machine camera controlled by a PC. Combined with the customer's own tensile test bench, the test fixture can also be used to measure the force to remove the safety cap, the activation force, as well as the needle protection force.

Optical sensor mount

A mounting system for optical sensors was designed with main focus on accuracy and stiffness. With extensive use of carbon fiber composite and Alloy 36 (trademark Invar 36) the system is optimized to retain accuracy over a wide temperature range. I the cases where the requirements means that stainless steel is necessary, a duplex stainless steel with low coefficient of thermal expansion (compared to austenitic stainless steel) is used. The carbon fiber structure, adhesive joints etc. has all been detailed analyzed using FEM tools and designed accordingly.

Through the years TPU has completed a series of more than 700 product development projects. Many projects have been classified as confidential due to the competitive situation of the client. Several of the confidential projects, which TPU has been involved in, have covered the entire development process from concept creation to design, verification and approval for 0-batch production. Furthermore, an associated production engineering function has also been part of the development process in many of these projects.

References

TPU has been or is working for the selected references, representing both national and foreign companies. They range far and wide from small firms with few employees to large multinational companies. The products range from micro mechanisms to heavy industry production equipment.

Patents

During various development projects TPU has often contributed with inventions suitable for patenting. The patents have given each client the competitive advantage, which the protection of a patent provides. These patents are either used directly to protect the specific product or to ensure freedom of operation for the future. TPU has participated in filing more than 50 patents.

The rights to the patents always belong to the clients, as is the case for all other rights connected to the output of the development projects.
